Our Grandmom only Needs us

My Grandmom is the Greatest Survivor i have ever known. My dad is her youngest son so I was born when she was about 68 years old. 

15 years ago

When i was a little girl

I came to her because she will give me a gift

I came to her because my mom got angry at me

I came to her to tell funny story in my school ( it might be usual for her, but she always kept listening) 

8 years ago

When i was growing up

She is getting older, 

She has complex health problem 

She also has hearing problem

It begins difficult to speak with her

I am not a little girl anymore

I was busy with my school project, my friends, my world

Sadly, i even didn't make 15 minutes in 24 hours to speak with her

She stayed in her own world, 

Her husband (my grandfather) has already gone

She kept looking at something

She didn't have partner when she intended to speak

She read the newspaper with very hard effort, still couldn't read cleary even after using her glasses

She got sleepy

and it was repeated in the next day

3 Years Ago till now

I realized that i did wrong thing

i should make time to accompany her

like what she has done to me many years ago, kept listening my bored story in my childhood

Luckly, she's still alive, i still have time to show how i love her

Honestly it isn't easy to communicate with her

Her hearing function getting worse day by day

I should speak very loudly, but it doesn't matter

When we speak, i ask about memory in past, she'll very glad to tell a long story about past event

Sometimes i don't know the people mentioned in her story

but i try to keep listening

She survives with her diseases, diabetes, legs fracture , vision problem, n manymore

I study in medical college, i am getting understand  that how hard to live with no friends and husband

I try to understand her past story

Meanwhile she , herself, always try to understand our current world that changing so fast

Now i know that,

it isn't important what we speak about 

She just needs a friend, a speaking partner

That's all

The only one she need is us, our attendance, our attention

it's already make her happy

I want to be a better grand daughter for you, Grandmom
