My Body Journey, Don't Let the Bad Genes Stopping You

Hello again! How are you? Hope your day is good :) . Now i want to share about my journey in learning thing that i was not good at, sport. Up and Down.

I often hear that genetic is just about 1% to determine our success. In other side, i strongly believe that good gene make the process a lot easier. Unfortunately, i don't have good gene in body flexibility. My body was so stiff . My school friends know exactly how bad i was in almost all sports. I struggled harder than anybody else but i got failed. At that time, i passed in sport just because of my teacher's mercy. On the other hand, my academic was above average. I couldn't remember how many times "people" judged me regarding the imbalance between my academic and non academic field.  I understood the point of their tought, but please i also didn't want it. I thought that everything was out of my control. In high shool i often imagined how beautiful the college life will be, there's no sport subject anymore. I will never feel as this bad.

When i was in the third year at the college, my weight increased significantly. It was a big trouble for me, then i decided to go to gym for the first time in my life. I tried many machines and classes, aerobic, body pump, zumba class, weight lifting.  I fall in love with yoga and pilates although the fact that my body was not flexible at all. To get more focused, i moved to yoga & pilates centre. At that time, i was the student with the most inflexible body. I often did the wrong pose. My teachers are very detailed and attentive. They know when i do  wrong , even just a little. Pilates and yoga are sports that focused on the breath. Once we don't breath, we won't be able to do the right pose. Both of them also require the strong abdmonial muscle, unless our  spinal column will get injured. Many of my classmates that joined later than me able to do the right pose faster. I felt so sad, luckly my teacher always remind me that yoga/pilates is not about competition. We do it for our own health and wellness.  I learn to do the right pose day by day.

Time flies, it has been 1,5 years. Honestly, i often got lazy in the beginning, but time makes me become addicted. I am happy with my body progress. Yeahh, It is slow but sure. Anyway , i am still just an amateur (that's why i don't post the photo of me, hehe) . It is not easy to manage the schedule since as the coass,  i also work in the night shift 1-2x in a week beside the usual working hours (monday-friday) . But, i love to challenge my self. I am satisfied when i can  manage my time as  productive as possible. And you know what's the happiest thing?  Finally i can do pose that i was not able to do in the high school.
Genetic is important. But don't let the bad genes stopping you to do the amazing things in your life, to do things that you love. Your life is yours. If the talented person can do perfectly by one try, we need to exercise more often. Again, it doesn't mean we can not. It is only a matter of time.

Exercise  is very good for our health.  I am writing to invite you to exercise , especially for you who doesn't have natural talent like me. You are not alone, many people are not blessed with flexible body. All you need is to find the strong reason to fight your laziness. Then keep doing exercise until you find something is going wrong when you don't. We don't need to be number one, also  don't to need to compare ourself to others. The only ideal competitor is ourself in past.
